Whiplash injury claim

The most common injuries received by car drivers involved in a road accidents is known as a "whiplash" injury. This is a soft tissue injury to the top of the spine or neck. The seatbelt holds you in place in a collision but your head has no support and moves violently backwards.

Whiplash can present very severe and long lasting symptoms. Younger people involved in lighter impacts may recover relatively quickly, however this is not always the case. Older victims and those involved in heavy impacts may suffer for much longer periods after the accident, if permanent damage has been done. The amount of compensation awarded for whiplash should match the seriousness of the injury and the likely recovery time.
